Who are Reinvent Counseling Groups for?ANY tween or teen between 10-19 years old can be a member of our groups. There is no requirement or diagnosis needed. Kids join our groups for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to; making friends, learning new life skills, stress-management, anxiety management, being lonely, getting bullied, feeling sad or depressed, or just looking for something fun to do. Reinvent offers 4-week, in-person counseling groups at The Highlands Mansion & Gardens At Reinvent, teens have opportunities to talk about the fears or stressors that hold them back and learn tools to use outside the group when those challenges arise. Your child will engage with others in a safe and positive skill-building practice during the group.

What is Walk & Talk Therapy?Weather permitting, our counseling sessions are offered outside during a walk through the gardens & meadows at The Highlands Mansion and Gardens. Our compassionate approach incorporates Nature-Informed Therapy (NIT), designed to help young individuals build resilience, improve their mental health, and foster meaningful connections through the healing power of nature. During this one-on-one counseling session your child will discuss specific hardships they are having and together, work towards positive solutions. Individual sessions are available in person and virtually for 45 minutes.

What happens at a Reinvent Counseling group?Reinvent Counseling’s curriculum is a psycho-educational and process style group. The curriculum was created and designed by Kelly Coutts, a high school counselor, and behavior therapist. The psycho-educational focus of the curriculum teaches teens new coping strategies and the “process” focuses on practicing their new skills and connecting teens with each other in a safe place.

Which group should my child join?Reinvent Counseling has groups based on ages. “Phases” is a 4-week program for kids ages 15-19. "Eclipses" is for ages 9-12 and an additional "Phases" group has been added for ages 13-14.

Do you accept insurance?Sorry, we do not accept insurance but you may be eligible through your insurance provider to receive partial reimbursement. How much is the Reinvent Counseling program?Reinvent offers a 4-week, in-person, counseling group for tweens (10-13) & teens (14-18). Course tuition is $295. At Reinvent, teens have opportunities to talk about the fears or stressors that hold them back and learn tools to use outside the group when those challenges arise. Your child will engage with others in a safe and positive skill-building practice during the group. What to expect from the group: Four 1-hour in-person group workshops with a Behavior Therapist and co-facilitator. Outdoor activities: walk & talks, meadow exploration, garden-tending, goat visits. A way for kids to connect and socialize. Small, safe, and confidential groups with 3-8 members. Inclusive, open, and safe spaces for evidence-based healing. Stress and anxiety skill-building lessons and practice. We do not currently accept insurance* *Out of Network Superbills available upon request You may be eligible through your insurance provider to receive partial reimbursement. Please verify with your insurance company and we will provide a receipt for services. Payment can be made through the website directly before the group cohort begins.

Who are the counselors for the groups?Reinvent counselors are highly qualified, certified, and licensed School Counselors, Behavior Therapists, and LPCs with experience running groups. They still work in schools and in the community when they aren’t at Reinvent Counseling.

When do the groups meet?Group meets every week, once per week, for 4 weeks. Workshops and drop in groups meet on Saturdays.

What happens at the parent session?The virtual parent session at the completion of the 4-week group reviews the new techniques your child has learned in the group. Helping children is a collaborative process and parents are explained what is taught so they can remind their children of their new skills.

Does my child need a therapist in order to join the group?It is not required, but it is highly recommended that your child have their own individual therapy outside of the Reinvent Counseling group. If they have a therapist, please sign the consent form to allow the outside therapist to collaborate with Reinvent Counseling.

Are there make-up groups if I can’t make one?Unfortunately, there are no make-up sessions. Group only works if you attend the group.

Is the group LGBTQIA+ friendly?Reinvent Counseling is a safe place for all walks of life and we welcome the LGBTQIA+ community.
