Life is Hard.

Groups can help.

Ayesha

My daughter has obtained exactly what we hoped for her by attending Reinvent Counseling. She now has an arsenal of tools that she can fall back on while navigating her last year of middle school and her freshman year of high school next September. The children gain valuable friendships and relationships outside of family and school dynamic. Kelly is knowledgeable and kind. I definitely recommend this program!

Mandy

My daughter (13) has attended two sessions of the Teen Group at Reinvent Counseling and I can see a huge difference in her confidence. She has stepped out of her comfort zone and done things that she never would have done before. In the past she would have just sat at a lunch table alone and not talked to other classmates that she didn't know, now she is sitting at a table with other classmates and they are having conversations. Also she would have had the confidence to try out for a school sport, and has actually missed out on teams for sports because she didn't want to try. Well this past week she actually tried out for the school volleyball team, with the mindset that if she made it great, but if she didn't that is ok too at least she tried. We have even gone places where other teenagers are in attendance and she has actually walked up to them and introduced herself and hung out with them. Having her join this group was the best thing ever and it has made a huge difference in her and the way she handles different things. To top it all off she has a blast while she is there too. Thank you Lauren and Kelly for everything you have done to help her come out of her shell and given her confidence to step out of her comfort zone!

Bobby

Our son (13) attended wellness sessions and it was a huge help to him as he transitioned from homeschooling during the pandemic to entering middle school for the first time. He learned some practical and very helpful strategies for learning to take responsibility in managing school work and his grades- which was causing him some anxiety prior to attending groups. He has gained the confidence to talk to his teachers when he needs extra help learning challenging concepts- as well as gaining additional confidence and leadership skills with his peers. We plan on using the drop-in sessions to reinforce his new skills as well.

Groups make individuals stronger.

We understand that counseling is not “one-size-fits-all”, but group counseling has proven success.

Joining a group workshop at Reinvent Counseling will help children and teens become socialized, confident, and empowered. When group members share similar experiences, they create bonds. They learn about themselves through communication and self-disclosure.

Reinvent Counseling helps nurture feelings of independence and social acceptance through group interaction.

Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy.

Reinvent Counseling was created by a school counselor, behavior therapist using ABA, Third Wave CBT (Mindfulness, DBT, goal setting), and Horticultural Therapy techniques to teach stress relief strategies. Getting through adolescence is easier with a group of peers that are also facing the same changes and challenges.

Teens need each other to learn about the world, especially now, after the pandemic.  Engaging with peers in the setting of group counseling is particularly beneficial as we re-emerge from the pandemic and discover who we are now.

The only way to understand body language is through in person interaction. Schedule a Consultation to learn more.

Teenagers in Nature
Go outside!

Studies show that being in nature has proven success in calming and soothing anxiety and  stress so it makes sense that some Reinvent Counseling sessions are held in an outside setting! Our group workshops use nature as part of our healing tool box.

We intentionally use outdoor spaces that are inspirational and uplifting to ease the nervous system and allow new skill building to happen.

A Message On Safety

Safety is one of our highest concerns.

In our current world with threats of Covid-19:

  • Masks will be required during the group at the studio.

  • All of our counselors and employees are vaccinated.

  • Hepa air purifiers run during the group.

  • Please use hand sanitizer upon entry into the studio.

  • Forgot your mask? (We have some at the door!)

Our safety precautions will remain in place until a time when new measures are given from the CDC.

“Running groups for teens seems the most natural and logical progression for all of this teen counseling experience and knowledge I embody. Texting, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok, YouTube, and now virtual learning. Teens and tweens are constantly notified by their technology to look, respond, and emote all day. I feel a sense of purpose to teach young people how to cope with today’s stressors. ”
